Hi, it's LaQuette, and I'm here with another review for you. Today's title is Gabriel, Book 2 in RJ Scott's Legacy series. This series is a spin-off of RJ's Texas series feating the Campbell-Hayes crew (one of my all-time favorite series). You don't need to read the Texas series to understand this series, but reading them prior, in my opinion, does give you a deeper appreciation for the secondary characters, as well as some of the darker moments the protagonists experience. Without further ado, let's jump straight into the review.

Review:

This book comes with trigger warnings. There are some pretty dark, and deeply emotional things these characters experience. The author is kind enough to warn readers ahead of time. However, if you are someone that has triggers, you may want to sit this one out.

To the author's credit, this book does a beautiful job of exploring what happens to a person when they are broken for so long, and often can't imagine a version of themselves that isn't a bucket of smashed pieces. Watching Gabriel move back and forth through his emotional hell, was so heartbreaking for me. However, as always, Ms. Scott pulls through with her emotionally gripping storytelling that makes you hurt when the characters hurt and cheer when they finally make their breakthrough or at least are on the path to a future breakthrough.

All and all, if you can stand to read through your tears, this is a beautiful, and meaningful addition to the Legacy series.
